The city of Toronto has approved the use of recycled insulation materials in a new condo building.
The city said the materials are made from materials that have been recycled in the past and are used in construction, which saves the city money.
But they are also a new challenge.
“We were able to make some changes to our supply chain that were beneficial to the building,” said spokeswoman Natalie DeBoeuf.
The new insulation materials are the same material that was used in a previous project at the old Eaton Centre site in Scarborough.
The Eaton Centre project, which closed in 2017, included new flooring that was recycled from a building on Queen St. W.
The new material is being used in three new condo towers.
The first, at the north end of the site, is called “The World” and was completed in October 2017.
The building was previously occupied by the Eaton Centre, which opened in the 1950s.
The second tower was completed last year, but was not built at that location because of construction on the other site.
“The building will remain in service for a period of time,” said DeBaeuf.
The city said it also used the materials in the third and final project at its west end site, which will be finished in early 2020.
The project was designed to address the shortage of replacement concrete used for building foundations.
The materials will be used for the roof and the facade.
The roof of the new tower is a two-storey structure made of polystyrene foam, which is recyclable.
It will be manufactured in a facility near Toronto and is expected to cost $2.5 million.
The materials are expected to be recycled in a different way than the old ones.
“They are going to be recyclables.
They are going in a separate line,” said spokesman Ben Strahl.
“When you recycle, you use the recycled material and you do not have to use the old material,” he said.
Strahtl said the city also was using recycled insulation in its new condos in the downtown core, which are now being built with the recycled materials.
The City of Toronto said the material will be recycled at the existing Eaton Centre building, but not in the new one.
The old Eaton centre building is still in use as a site for the construction of the city’s new convention centre.
